PREP VOLLEYBALL: IEL-leading Post Falls sweeps at Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — Kassie Gardiner had 19 assists and three aces as the league-leading Post Falls Trojans swept the Sandpoint Bulldogs 25-10, 25-10, 25-15 in Inland Empire League play Thursday night at Les Rogers Court.

Kylie Munday added nine kills, 10 assists, two blocks, 10 digs and three aces for Post Falls (15-4, 6-0 IEL). Hanna Christensen added six kills and five blocks, Trinity Byrne two blocks, Claire Holding eight digs.

Sandpoint fell to 1-7, 0-3.

Post Falls plays tonight and Saturday at the Linda Sheridan Classic in Spokane.

COEUR d’ALENE — Madi Symons had 20 kills, Maicy Nelson eight, Olivia Naccarato seven as the host Vikings swept the Bears 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 in nonleague play at Viking Court.

Hailey Wuolle added 39 assists for Coeur d’Alene (4-5). Lindsay Stokes had two blocks, Symons five digs and three aces, Olivia Dixon five digs.

“Our offense was rocking tonight,” Coeur d’Alene coach Carly Curtis said. “Our ball control was good, we were connecting with our hitters, our serving was tough tonight. It was just a good team effort and I got to get a lot of kids in, and my bench came in and played well.”

Moscow, second in the IEL at 3-1, is 4-5 overall.

Coeur d’Alene travels south today to play in the Rocky Mountain Invitational today and Saturday at Rocky Mountain High in Meridian. The Vikings are scheduled for pool play matches today vs. Rocky Mountain, Bishop Kelly and Borah, and bracket play on Saturday in the four-pool, 15-team event.

KELLOGG — Taylor Peterson had 11 kills, four aces and three kills for the visiting Panthers, who fell to the Wildcats 25-14, 25-18, 25-9 in Intermountain League play at Andrews Gymnasium.

Kalei Merrifield had 29 assists for Coeur d’Alene Charter (2-6, 1-2 IML). Raeanna Kendra had 11 kills, Alysse Woodworth six kills, Malia Kenner five kills, Daise Ohmes four digs.

Kellogg is 5-2, 3-0.

Coeur d’Alene Charter plays host to Bonners Ferry on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic School.

SPIRIT LAKE — Sami Wilfong had 19 assists and two aces as the host Tigers swept the Spartans 25-13, 25-13, 25-22 in Intermountain League play.

Jaycie Pratt added seven kills and two aces for Timberlake (5-5, 3-1 IML). Maddie Staples had 12 digs, Ashliana Thomas 13 digs and three kills.

Priest River is 0-7, 0-3.

Timberlake plays at the Lakeside Chivalry Tournament on Saturday in Plummer.

HARRISON FLATS — Tayva Maitland had seven digs and three kills for the host Warriors, who fell to the Wampus Cats 25-7, 25-10, 25-12 in North Star League play.

Kaylee Lupo had five digs and five assists for Kootenai (0-9, 0-2 NSL). Bella Defoort had two kills and a block, Keira Bohannon six digs.

“The girls really came together as a team tonight and played very well,” Kootenai coach Kaili Gentry said. “Every single girl on the team improved; it’s just a bummer that the score doesn’t show how hard they worked.”

Clark Fork is 6-1, 1-0.

Kootenai plays host to Genesis Prep next Thursday.
