COEUR d’ALENE — Lake City moved closer to locking up the Inland Empire League title with a 3-0 win over the Post Falls Trojans at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex on Thursday.

Kohrt Weber and Tyler Gasper had goals in the first half for Lake City (12-0-1, 7-0-0 IEL), which can clinch a tie for the league title with a win at Lakeland on Tuesday. With a win Tuesday, Lake City can win it outright with a win at home against Coeur d’Alene on Oct. 2.

“We made some defensive changes that proved successful tonight,” Lake City coach Alan Rich said. “In recent games, we’ve produced scoring from nine different players, which makes our attack very difficult to defend. We had a strong group of talented players that play well together as a team and we continue to work on various details in training to make sure we improve each game. Tonight, we passed well, played as a team and kept another clean sheet, so I am very pleased with tonight’s performance against a Post Falls team that never stopped fighting until the end.”
