COVID: Melting pot lessons

| September 24, 2021 1:00 AM

I’m visiting my daughter Nicole at Fayetteville, N.C., birthplace of the honorable Joe Culbreth and truly an American melting pot.

Two very distinctive things that are different than North Idaho: One, there’s no legalized marijuana states nearby so there’s no Help Wanted signs; everybody is working.

Second, being a melting pot, people from everyplace in the world live here, and every man, woman and child wears a mask.

I think those coming from Third World countries have a clearer understanding of plagues and disease with no American Medical Association available.

On the COVID section of the evening news here on the other side of the country, they show my North Idaho Panhandle Health District and Kootenai Health workers helping educated, wealthy white people with no understanding of plagues and disease stay alive. This I find fascinating.

The great philosopher Mr. Wonderful told me once that the best thing about Californians moving in was that they will keep our bloodline pure. Well, Pete, I don’t think it’s working out that way. You’re still the great philosopher. Even Confucius was wrong once in awhile.
