Shirley Mae Weaver, Nov. 28, 1928, to Sept. 8, 2021

Shirley Mae Weaver (Mom/Grandma) was born Shirley Marsh, to Lawrence and Mary Marsh on Nov. 28, 1928, in Sutton, Neb. Shirley was the oldest of five children.

Known by most as mom or grandma, Shirley’s house was always the gathering place. Whether for family on any holiday, or for her kids’ and grandkids’ friends any time. Her love for crafts was only surpassed by her love for baking.

Whether you received a hand-knit Christmas stocking, one of her many different homemade Christmas ornaments or got a special baked birthday cake. Shirley was always busy creating something new with love. Anytime you entered her house, you were welcomed with the smell of fresh-baked cookies, cakes and pies.

Shirley’s other passion was Eastern Star. Shirley was active in both the Floral Chapter #46 in Deer Lodge, Mont., and the Clover Chapter #33 in Rathdrum, Idaho. In 1982, Shirley became the Worthy Grand Matron of the Clover Chapter. Even after her husband passed, Shirley remained an active member until she could no longer physically participate.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Morris Thompson Elmose (Tom), Lawrence David Elmose (Larry), and Alex Harvey Weaver Jr. as well as eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho; where Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband, Alex Harvey Weaver Sr.
