GINORIO: Moral courage misunderstood

| September 22, 2021 1:00 AM

Quoting the Sept. 17 opinion of Ralph Ginorio:

“Moral courage is not the brittle narcissism of those who conflate their pet preferences with objective reality.”

Followed by, “… no voter should quietly accept any candidate who refuses to proudly proclaim their political philosophy. No one should allow anyone to achieve office as a “non-partisan.”

The term “moral courage” can no longer be used when discussing American politics. Hasn’t been for a long time.

Moral Courage is doing what’s right, not genuflecting to a corrupt party (and that goes both ways), often just because the “enemy” thinks otherwise.

Moral Courage is representing your constituency, not a party. And this speaks no louder than on the local level.

Why do you and your pal Regan think it’s your task to drag party politics into the city of Coeur d’Alene and other local municipal, education, health and highway governing bodies?

Did you fellows move here because you liked it or because this looked like a good place for a shot at being a political big shot?

Look what your partisan politics have done to America.
