Title companies feel vulnerable families are entitled to a nicer Thanksgiving

| September 18, 2021 1:00 AM

Turkeys & More coordinator Evalyn Adams was very excited to receive a combined donation of $3,000 given by six of the local title companies. They each gave $500 to help buy turkeys and "trimmings" for Thanksgiving. This was a first-time effort of the title companies working together to help provide 1,800 vulnerable families in Kootenai County a much nicer holiday dinner in November. Total family members served will be more than 7,000!

Pictured from left: Gavin Jacobson, North Idaho Title; James Nagrone, First American Title; Jared Janke, Alliance Title; Darrin Halliday, Pioneer Title; Alex Myers, Title One; and Dustin Ainsworth, Kootenai Title. Each of the fellows submitted a few comments about why they wanted to help:

Gavin — "North Idaho Title proudly supports Turkeys & More and their mission to provide a great dinner for those many not able to provide on for themselves. It's very important to give back to our local causes and support our great place in which we live."

James — "First American Title is pleased to help vulnerable families have a nicer Thanksgiving."

Jared — "It is really great to see all but one of the title companies in town join together to help out the community — such a great cause and Alliance is proud to be a part of it! We appreciate the opportunity to give back."

Darrin — "Through the continual support that our community has given our business, Pioneer Title Company has been blessed with the ability to return that commitment and support to its community."

Alex — "Coeur d'Alene is the heart of Kootenai County. Our people and culture are a huge reason this area is so sought after. Thanksgiving is about giving and coming together as a community, and if we can help others enjoy their holiday, then we have done our part as community members — especially in these turbulent times. Title One values community contribution and success to our core. We are so happy to help our community members through Turkeys & More."

Dustin — "Kootenai Title has supported Turkeys & More for years and I personally assisted with Operation Turkey Drop in 2020. It's such a pleasure to bring six of the seven local title companies together to show our community support united together in these tough times for many in our growing community that we call home."

Adams said it was wonderful to receive this great support, but more help is needed to have enough money to buy the turkeys and holiday food. Stores often order turkeys this month and over $20,000 more is needed soon to provide the nonprofit sponsor Heart Reach, Inc. with sufficient funds. To help Fight Hunger and Feed Hope, please send check made out to Heart Reach to: Myndi Sizemore Director, Heart of the City Church, 772 W. Kathleen Ave., Coeur d'Alene, 83815. Please write Turkeys & More on the memo line. For more information, call Adams at 208-765-5535.
