Lisa Albee

| September 18, 2021 1:00 AM

Lisa Albee was born Sept. 16, 1958, in St. Maries, Idaho, to Helen and Curtis Albee. She passed away on Sept. 11, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Lisa moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1976. She attended North Idaho College for two years and went to Seattle to work as a secretary. She lost her sight due to diabetes and returned to Coeur d’Alene. She accepted her total blindness as a challenge and new plateau in her life.

She loved to do handwork and was a prolific reader of audio books.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Wolters; and cousins, Sue Swim and Roger Chamberlain; and her three cats, Joseph, Zephyr and Grayson, whom she loved like real children.

Lisa attended the Coeur d’Alene Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she became very active in the Community Service Food Bank and clothing ministry.

Even though totally blind she would sit in her chair and greet with a friendly voice the people as they came for assistance. She was especially tuned to pick up cues that a person had a particular need and would call them aside to visit. She was especially tuned to the needs of children and would set out to purchase clothing for them attending the sales at the fairgrounds. People would come in just to visit with her and she would listen and let the staff know of particular needs that the church could help with. While she knitted her beautiful potholders which she donated to the ministry, she became the Food Bank Resident Chaplain. She was dearly loved and will be missed!

She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Albee.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Coeur d'Alene Seventh Day Adventist Church, 111 E. Locust Ave., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
