Jeannette DeLallo

| September 17, 2021 1:00 AM

Jeannette Claire DeLallo passed away in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, from cancer. She will always be remembered as a wonderful mother and loving wife of her husband, Joseph, who passed away in May 2005. Together, they raised nine children (five boys and four girls), and now have 86 grandchildren and 87 great-grandchildren.

Jeannette was born in Oakland, Calif., on Feb. 10, 1930. She was raised in Lakeport, Calif., on the west coast of Clear Lake. Jeannette met her husband, Joseph, in 1952, and they were married in Lakeport on Feb. 14, 1953. They raised their first four children in Pittsburg, Calif. (“little Italy”), then moved to South Lake Tahoe, Calif., in March 1959, in order to raise their children in a beautiful mountain community away from the big city.

They had their next five children in Lake Tahoe. All the children enjoyed living in the mountains with so many outdoor activities. In December 2000, Jeannette and Joseph moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in order to be close to a Latin Mass community, and to be close to their two younger daughters, Michelle and Theresa.

As a devout Catholic, Jeannette’s greatest love was to attend daily Mass and receive Holy Communion. She also had a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. When Modernism and Liberalism attacked the Catholic Church in the 1960s during the time of Vatican II, she and her husband, Joseph, remained faithful to the Traditional Catholic Faith and made sure that their children had a solid Catholic education during very difficult and confusing times in the Church.

Jeannette DeLallo is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, William and Marguerite Bolce, and several brothers and sisters: Will Bolce, Margaret Flagg, Harold Bolce, Don Bolce, Barbara Dowling and Catherine Bolce (Sister Jeannette Marie). She is survived by her nine children: Joseph and Cindy DeLallo (5 children), Fr. Stephen DeLallo, William and Diane DeLallo (11 children), Marianne and Bob Kaiser (12 children, including one religious), John and Kathy DeLallo (8 children, including one priest), Kathleen and Steve Kaiser (12 children, including one priest and four religious), David and Mary DeLallo (13 children, including two religious), Michelle and Vince Hughes (10 children, including one religious), and Theresa and Charlie Epkey (15 children). She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Pat and Peter Cirivilleri of Campbell, Calif., and Benita Swint of Santa Rosa, Calif.
