PREP ROUNDUP: Lakeland girls give new coach first win

RATHDRUM — Chloe Charvier-Soleillet scored two goals and Reagan Wright had a goal and assist as the Lakeland Hawks beat the Priest River Spartans 5-1 in nonleague play Tuesday at Sunrise Rotary Field.

“We did a good job of keeping our shape and that allowed us to connect our passes,” said Lakeland coach Kevin Rogge, who notched his first win as coach. “We played really well as a team, talked more and were just going after the ball, which opened the field. I’m happy for our girls and glad we got some goals under our belt.”

The win snapped an 11-game losing streak for Lakeland, which finished 1-11 last season.

Priest River (1-3-1) travels to St. Maries next Tuesday.

Lakeland (1-7) hosts Post Falls next Tuesday.

Timberlake is now slated to host Colville (Wash.) on Thursday at 7 p.m., after Connell (Wash.) canceled due to COVID-19 issues.

Colville had to cancel last week’s game vs. Sandpoint because of COVID-19 issues.
