MOSCOW - The Lakeland girls soccer team had a strong first half and played well at times in the second half before falling 6-0 at Moscow on Monday night.

"We were much improved from the first time we played them (an 8-0, season-opening home loss)," Hawks coach Kevin Rogge said. "We played one of our best halves in the first half.

Lakeland had five shots on goal, including one that was swept off the goal line by a Bears defender.

"We had some good looks, with two really good chances in the second half where they made strong saves," Rogge added. "We played really well in spurts. Every game we're improving more and more, which is what we need."
