Charles L. Riffel

90th Birthday

Charles L. Riffel is celebrating his 90th birthday on Sept. 16, 2021. He was born in Eldorado, Kan., and has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1955. He now lives in Hayden and was awarded the city of Hayden Distinguished Veteran in 2019.

Charles served in the U.S. Army as a Kroean Vet. Platoon Sargent from 1952-1954. He retired as director of plant operations at Newport Community Hospital on Sept. 9, 1999.

Charles and his wife, Gerry, love it in the Hayden area.

Charles is a life member of the VFW Post No. 889. He is currently the Senior Vice Commander of the American Legion Post No. 14. He also serves in the area on the color guard and honor guard.
