Power outage coming to St. Maries area

About 750 Avista electric customers near St. Maries will experience a planned power outage on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The planned outage will last five hours, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Traffic control will be in place on Highway 3 near Goosehaven Road along the Dike. Impacted customers will be notified before the outage occurs. Customers within St. Maries city limits will not be impacted by the outage.

Avista and its contractor will provide maintenance to equipment in the area to accommodate the Highway 3 Dike widening road project. The routine work will increase reliability and reduce future outages.
