| September 11, 2021 1:00 AM

Janice Fern Villegas, age 75, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home on Aug. 28, 2021. Janice was born Feb. 7, 1946, to John and Fern (Delashmint) Brooks, in Evansville, Ind. In 1964, she graduated from Parkway School in Chesterville, Mo. After she graduated, she worked as a secretary at an advertising agency.

Janice met Walter Villegas, and about a month later, they married on Dec. 23, 1977, and moved to California. They were very much in love and enjoyed a wonderful marriage and friendship. Janice was honored to be stepmother to Walter’s two sons, Walter, and Henry Villegas. Later on, she became a grandmother to their children.

On June 15, 1979, Janice gave birth to her daughter, Christina Magistrale. Janice was the mother who did anything and everything for her child. She volunteered at all the school events and served as a Girl Scout leader. Janice and Christina were more than just mother and daughter. They were best friends.

Janice worked for Chino and Victorville School Districts as a secretary in California. The family moved to Northampton, Pa., in 1986. Janice then worked for the school district there. In 1993, the family moved back to Victorville, Calif. Janice completed her CNA Certificate at Victor Valley College but decided to remain a full-time homemaker. In 2003, the family made one more move to Post Falls, Idaho.

In 2004, Janice welcomed into the world a grandson, Hunter Villegas-Magistrale. Janice loved him to the moon and back. Then in 2010, she again became a grandmother to Archer Magistrale, her love bug.

Janice was a bubbly, smiling, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is loved to the moon and back! She enjoyed entering disco contests, football, playing the piano, singing with the radio, and shopping.

Janice is preceded in death by both of her parents and her infant grandson, Dylan Villegas-Magistrale. She is survived by her husband, Walter Villegas; daughter Christina Magistrale; and grandsons Hunter Villegas-Magistrale and Archer Magistrale.

There is no service planned at this time. To honor Janice contributions to any humane society may be made in her name. Please visit Janice's online memorial at www.belltowerfuneralhome.com.
