Tammy Cunningham passed away peacefully on Aug. 25, 2021, at the Hospice House in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. She was born Dec. 14, 1958, to her loving parents Harold and Anita Schoch in Akron, Ohio. She was the youngest of five children and would go on to graduate from Akron East High in 1977.

Tammy welcomed daughter Tara Maureen in 1980. Soon after they relocated to beautiful North Idaho, where she met and married the love of her life, P.J. Cunningham. They proudly welcomed son Sean Patrick in 1989. Tammy then pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She was accepted into the nursing program at North Idaho College and graduated in 1991.

She was known for her remarkable strength, calming presence and infectious smile. She’s known for her love of Christmas, from the cut-outs to the decorations; it was never anything less than magical.

Tammy has two beautiful grandchildren, who she loved more than anything in the world.

Besides being devoted to her family, Tammy’s light shined the brightest when she was serving others. She dedicated over 20 years working as a Registered Nurse at the Kootenai Cancer Center. Tammy was a beloved nurse and touched countless lives. She can rest easy knowing she made a true difference in this world.

She is preceded in death by her husband P.J. Cunningham, and parents Harold & Anita Schoch.

Tammy is survived by her daughter Tara (Brad) Bjorum of Coeur d’ Alene, son Sean Cunningham of Hawaii, brother Raymond (Lesley) Schoch of Coeur d’ Alene, sister Thala Morris of Akron, Ohio, sister Sandy (Brian) Haash of Milton Freewater, Ore.

The earth shines a little less bright without Tammy and she will be deeply missed.
