Search for water quality projects begins

A total of $2 million in state funding is up for grabs as the Coeur d’Alene Lake Advisory Committee begins soliciting projects that will reduce nutrient pollution in the lake.

The CLAC is tasked with identifying projects that could improve the health of Lake Coeur d’Alene by 2023.

All proposals submitted to the CLAC will be evaluated and prioritized based on the inclusion of:

• On-the-ground projects that reduce phosphorus loads to Lake Coeur d’Alene

• Projects located within Idaho and the watershed area draining into the lake

• Projects that reduce phosphorus levels entering the lake and its tributaries

• Community support for the project

Pre-applications will be accepted through Sept. 21.

CLAC members will review project proposals at the next meeting Oct. 20.
