NIC: Support for 3 trustees

| September 3, 2021 1:00 AM

What is the secret to raising great, healthy kids?

I think it is a loving, mentoring dad passionately engaged in their lives, especially in their early critical years. Children need to play together in the sun, read and write proficiently, eat dirt, interact unmuzzled and explore life fearlessly.

That is why I am honored to call Greg McKenzie my friend who had my 100% support when he ran and earned a Trustee position at North Idaho College.

I also wish to commend Greg, his fellow Trustees Michael Barnes and Todd Banducci for respecting the intelligence of students, faculty and staff to make informed health decisions and reject mask mandates.

Though you continue to take heavy flak, tens of thousands of citizens all across Kootenai County whom you were elected to serve, plus tens of thousands of citizens in the other four northern counties which NIC serves, agree with your decision and applaud your courage and integrity.

Remember, college boards set policy, not state or county bureaucrats or employees.

Now we can go back to one of the primary missions we elected Greg, Mike and Todd to achieve, to expand one of the finest technical education programs in the nation on NIC’s Rathdrum Campus.

I and my many industrial friends look forward and pledge to working with the trustees and staff at NIC along with KTEC to create the greatest practical technical education centers in America.

Greg, your beautiful children and my granddaughters deserve no less.
