Roger Walton, 75

Died: Oct. 19, 2021 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Roger was born in Ephrata, Wash., and moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, in 1951. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1964. Then he spent a year at North Idaho College in the automotive program. Roger and Shirley (Thomas) were married on Aug. 26, 1972. Roger worked for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic. In his retirement he was a fixture at Rustler’s Roost every morning. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fern Walton, and his granddaughter Samantha Dickinson. He leaves behind: his wife Shirley Walton; his brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Joyce Walton; his brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Gail Walton; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Rains; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Sandra Walton; his grandson, granddaughter-in-law and great-granddaughter, Ryen, Jess, and Serena Dickinson; his granddaughter, Amanda Dickinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 1–4 p.m., Oct. 30, 2021, at the Rathdrum Senior Center, 8037 Montana St., Rathdrum, Idaho, 83858. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Rathdrum Food Bank.
