“Captain Scott”

Captain Scott was always game for a challenge: whether skydiving, doing the 200-mile Seattle to Portland bicycling classic, rock climbing or running a triathlon. He was a black belt in karate — a competitor and a judge.

Scott was born in Boise and got a degree in construction management. He worked on major projects such as dams, tunnels, prisons and airports for 25 years.

Scott loved the water. He swam competitively at only 8. He later became a scuba diver and rescue diver. While doing the swim portion of the triathlon, he discovered Lake Coeur d’Alene. In his “second act” he became a captain and drove a cruise boat for 10 years at the CDA Resort. He loved taking his two dogs to the lake for a fetch-and-swim every day.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Ray Clemons. He is survived by his mother, Larry Ann, a brother, David (wife Sandy), sister, Diana Christine Clemons, and beloved nephew, Caleb. A private family service will be held later.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements. Please visit Scott’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at yatesfuneralhomes.com.
