Coming off a rough stretch of games against stout competition, the Idaho Vandals (2-5, 1-3 Big Sky) look to get back into the win column today, when Northern Arizona (3-4 2-2) visits for a 1 p.m. clash at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow.
Idaho has dropped five of its last six games — though two were to Power 5 schools (Indiana and Oregon State), and the other three were to teams ranked in the top 15 in the FCS at the time (No. 8 UC Davis, No. 2 Eastern Washington and No. 11 Montana).
Idaho’s only win during that stretch was 42-35 over Portland State on Oct. 9 at the Kibbie Dome.
Three of NAU’s four losses have come against FCS-ranked foes, though the Lumberjacks own a victory over Arizona in Tucson.
Though the Idaho coaches know, who will play quarterback for the Vandals is anyone else’s guess.
Mike Beaudry missed the last two games with a shoulder injury, and CJ Jordan has been out longer than that with a shoulder injury.
Converted running back Zach Borisch and true freshman Gevani McCoy have shouldered the load at quarterback the past two weeks, though Idaho coach Paul Petrino said Borisch is a bit banged up. Beaudry, however, practiced on Tuesday.
Borisch is Idaho’s leading rusher with 361 yards on the season.
