Q'emiln Park boat launch closing for season

POST FALLS—The Q’emiln Park boat launch will be closed for the season following November 8.

Closed annually from mid-November through late spring or early summer, the launch is located upstream of Avista’s Post Falls Hydroelectric Development facilities. Avista representatives warned residents and visitors in a press release that water levels and conditions around the dam are unpredictable and caution should be exercised when in proximity.

Avista maintains an information site online at www.myavista.com/waterflow where current waterway information is listed. A 24-hour hotline is also available at (208) 769-1357. Recorded regular updates are available to advise “shoreline property owners, commercial and recreational users of changes in the lake levels and river flows that may affect plans for water use.”

The launch will reopen next year when water levels return to optimum levels for inflow into Coeur d’Alene Lake.
