COVID RANK: Least safe, but free

In the Oct. 15 Press headlines “COVID distinction survey” (and) “Idaho is worst for safety from Coronavirus,” The Press gleefully and breathfully printed the terrible reports on the 10 safest and 10 least safest states. Idaho ranking the worst!

Yes, they are right, but for some reason people are pouring into our “least safe” state, maybe because we are one of the last frontiers, to speak your mind, respect your neighbor, carry a firearm and worship God freely. I for one would rather live here in free Idaho than in your safest ranking state for COVID where you can’t walk the streets for fear of being shot or your business robbed and set fire to.

Somehow I detected a smugness and arrogance in your words, “at last, Idaho earns a COVID distinction.” So go ahead, keep printing your distaste for our beautiful Coeur d’Alene. You are entitled to your opinions because the way you wrote this article for The Press reveals your own makeup, not mine — a 45-year resident and senior citizen.
