Roger Walton, 75

ROGER WALTON, 75, was born Dec. 31, 1945, in Ephrata, Wash., and died Oct. 19, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Roger was born in Ephrata, Wash. and moved to Rathdrum, Idaho, in 1951. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1964. Then he spent a year at North Idaho College in the automotive program. Roger and Shirley (Thomas) were married on Aug. 26, 1972. Roger worked for many years as a heavy equipment mechanic. In his retirement he was a fixture at Rustler’s Roost every morning.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fern Walton; and his granddaughter Samantha Dickinson.

He leaves behind his wife Shirley Walton, his brother and sister-in-law, Clifford and Gail Walton; his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Rains; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Sandra Walton; his grandson, granddaughter-in-law and great-granddaughter, Ryen, Jess and Serena Dickinson; his granddaughter, Amanda Dickinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life from 1-4 p.m., on Oct. 30, 2021, at the Rathdrum Senior Center, 8037 Montana St., Rathdrum, Idaho, 83858.
