So, you want a little Halloween, do you?

It's the most horrible time of the year, if you'll pardon the Halloween heist of a yuletide carol.

For those who love this holiday, horrible is wonderful.

COEUR d'ALENE

Saturday

"Flutonics' Autumn Spooktacular concert" will feature six Halloween-themed musical pieces by Flutonics, a flute chamber group. The free event is hosted by the Music Conservatory of Coeur d'Alene on 627 N. Government Way and starts at 7 p.m. Costumes are encouraged.

"Community Market," a costume party at the Silver Lake Mall on 200 W. Hanley Avenue in Coeur d'Alene from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a free family scavenger hunt and over 35 vendors showcasing their goods. 

Sunday

"Trick or Treating," a free event sponsored by Candlelight Christian Fellowship at the Silver Lake Mall at 200 W. Hanley Ave. from 5 to 7 p.m. There will also be a free performance by "Frozen" characters Anna and Elsa through "Dreams Are Forever Character Events." Photos and a meet and greet with the characters are available for $10. 

"Trick or Treat Downtown Coeur d'Alene," participating businesses with the Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association, invite families to bring a bucket for candy distribution from 4 to 6 p.m. 

"Halloween Fossils & Fun," a free annual event with the Spectacular Spud Museum, will provide goody bays with surprises and fossils from 5 to 9 p.m. Located at 2204 N. Ninth St. in Coeur d'Alene. 

"Halloween at the Carousel," wear a costume for an afternoon of tricks or treats and a fun ride around the Coeur d'Alene Carousel at 439 W. Fort Grounds Drive. Each ride costs $2.50 or $20 for 10 rides. Grab a brass ring and win a free ride. Open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

"City Fall Fest," a free event sponsored by Heart of the City Church at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds on 4056 N. Government Way. There will be food, music, candy, kids' games, a pie and chili cook-off, and a pie-eating contest. 

HAYDEN

Friday

"Friday Night Frights," free drive-thru event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Hayden Meadows Elementary School parking lot located at 900 E. Hayden Ave. Vehicles will stop at stations decorated by city employees, the Hayden Chamber, and local businesses. Halloween costumes are encouraged. Call 208-209-1080 for more information. 

"Hayden Haunted House" will run throughout the weekend at 2850 W. Hayden Ave. Tickets cost $6 per person and are available by appointment only. Text 509-216-4533 for more information.

POST FALLS

Friday

"Halloween Drive-thru Trick or Treat" in Post Falls City Hall parking lot at 408 N. Spokane St. from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will stop at each "spooktacular station" for free goodies while remaining in their vehicle. Costumes and decorated vehicles are encouraged. "Fall Military Family Festival" invites the military service community to connect and join together for free fall activities, games and candy at the National Guard Armory at 5453 E. Seltice Way from 5 to 8 p.m. Contact Cassandra Rzepa at 208-608-3816 for more information. 

"Harvest Festival at Real Life Ministries" will have free games, indoor and outdoor activities, live music and a petting zoo from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Candy is for kids up to fifth grade; food and beverage are available for purchase. It is located at 1860 N. Cecil Road. 

"Halloween Fest" at the All Things Sensory Children's Development Center will feature free trunk-or-treating, a costume contest, a cakewalk, and Halloween crafts. Held at 2700 E. Seltice Way, the event raises money with Neighbors-n-Need for families in need, autistic individuals and families with children in the intensive care unit. Photo ops with Marshall from "Paw Patrol" are available with a $5 donation

Sunday

"Fright Night" at 2106 N. Grants Court will have a haunted walk through, mazes, candy and attractions starting at 5 p.m. Pure Salon and Spa donated full-six candy bars to the first 200 people and the event is a food drive for the Post Falls Food Bank. RATHDRUM

Saturday

"National B.A. T. A. A MC Fall Festival" will have saddlebags treats, food, a Halloween costume contest and purchasable tickets for carnival games with prizes from noon to 4 p.m. The event is located at Stub Meyer Park, 8320 W. Fourth St. in Rathdrum. More information is available through 208-255-8545 or northidahobataa@gmail.com. 

"Trunk-or-Treat 2021" is hosted by the city of Rathdrum from 5 to 7 p.m. on Maine Street. The event will have free treats for grade school children and toddlers. Judging for the best-decorated car will be conducted from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. More information is available at 208-687-2399. 

"FAMILY HALLOWEEN 2021" at the Kootenai County Jail Museum is presented by the Rathdrum Historical Society from 5 to 7 p.m. at 7940 W. Second St. Tour the "haunted jail" and receive free treats for kids. Donations are welcome. 

HARRISON 

Friday

"Annual Pumpkin Carving Party" hosted by One Shot Charlies at 100 W. Harrison St. from 5 to 8 p.m. A movie starts at 5:30 p.m.; carving materials and stencils are provided in limited quantities. The crowd will pick the top three pumpkins in the adult and children categories. Admission is free. 

Saturday

"Trunk or Treat Halloween" in downtown Harrison will have free games, crafts and prizes for best costume and truck decoration from noon till dark. 

BAYVIEW

Saturday

"Bayview Halloween Parade" will run its course through downtown Bayview from 4 to 4:45 p.m. with candy passed out by drivers. All ages are welcome, but adults must be present. 

"Fall Festival," a free, family-friendly night for all ages at Bayview Bible Church from 5:30 to 8 p.m. There will be fall-themed games, snacks, and trunk-or-treating.

SPIRIT LAKE

Saturday

"Spirit Lake Costume Party" will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Spirit Lake Library at 32575 N. Fifth Ave. There will be free crafts and story time for kids and snacks and games for all ages. Bring a carved jack-o'-lantern to enter in a contest. Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Sunday

"Maine Street Party" will have free games, prizes, and candy distributed by the Spirit Lake Police Department from 5 to 8 p.m. There is also a cornhole tournament in City Park at 3:30 p.m. with warmups starting at 1:30 p.m. Registration is required. Cornhole costs $15 for two players. 

ATHOL

Sunday

"Trunk-or-Treat." Super 1 Foods on 30585 N. Roberts Road is passing out treats and books from the Athol Library to those in costume from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
