ELECTION: Don’t trust endorsements
We volunteer each year to work the polls. I don’t like this KCRCC group standing at least 100 feet away with their self-appointed voting cards to hand out to voters. All their vetting questions, who vets them?
I like the recent newspaper article exposing one of the people they vetted; I like that kind of reporting. Give me some facts; let me make up my own mind.
On the other hand, I do not like the “Press Endorsements” either. Who is the Press, who vetted them? Are they independent from Hagadone and the local power group? The people they endorse, professional politicians and the local business owners, who is to say they are more qualified?
It’s the same theme; both groups think we as voters can not make up our own mind, without them telling us who the winners should be.
This KCRCC grass-roots organization with limited influence vs The Press with their every day more powerful influence.
I like news people to tell me the news without me knowing who they voted for. I like newspapers to provide different points of view, without giving me their own view. Even though it’s a fantasy, pretend that I as a voter can make up my own mind.
I am not saying I support either group’s selections, some yes, some no. Unfortunately, It all comes down to power and how you exercise that power is what is most important.
