Klaire Mitchell

Grand Canyon volleyball

Mitchell, a junior from Lake City High, was named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 14 assists per set in the Lopes' (14-4, 6-3 WAC) three-set win against Sam Houston and four-set win against Stephen F. Austin. Last Thursday, Mitchell finished with 38 assists to lead the sweep of Sam Houston, then the WAC Southwest Division leader. Last Saturday, Mitchell had a career-best 60 assists in a four-set win over Stephen F. Austin to deny the Ladyjacks a chance at sharing first place in the Southwest. That outing marked the third-most assists in a four-set match across all Division I play this season.

The junior from Athol collected 52 digs to average 4.73 per set. She also tallied three aces and dealt four assists.
