PREP FOOTBALL: Lumberjacks notch win in return from COVID pause

OROFINO — Trey Gibson ran for three touchdowns, powering the St. Maries Lumberjacks past the Orofino Maniacs 28-7 in a Central Idaho League game on Saturday at Orofino High.

Sean Elliott scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for St. Maries (1-4, 1-0 CIL), which played for the first time since Sept. 17 due to a COVID-19 pause within the athletic program.

St. Maries hosts Grangeville on Friday at 6 p.m.

Orofino is 1-6, 0-2.
