MAY: Integrity, leadership

| October 24, 2021 1:00 AM

A school board member needs to be a hard worker; an honest person; a good thinker; a good listener, a visionary and someone with wide knowledge of our school district!

I met this person when I joined the Coeur d’Alene Education Partnership, a team of community members that works in tandem with School District No. 271 in search of ways to improve education and plan for the future.

This person is Lisa May. I had the privilege of working with her as she co-chaired the YES! Committee that supported the successful passage of the 2017 Bond Levy.

I sat by her side and watched her leadership as president of the Long Range Planning Committee. Her integrity and energy is outstanding. Her only agenda is to serve our districts staff and students. Her leadership was rewarded by winning a seat on the school board in 2017, Zone 1.

There is no question about her desire to continue supporting public education in our community. With all of the issues facing public education locally and nationwide, WE NEED her leadership and knowledge NOW. Time is imminent…we can’t afford to wait for a new candidate to review years of school board planning and curriculum development. These issues must be addressed TODAY.

Lisa May has been a community leader in support of School District No. 271 for years!

Remember May Day…Nov. 2, Vote for Lisa May, Coeur d’Alene School District No. 271, Zone 1.
