ELECTION: Nov. 2 is critical

| October 22, 2021 1:00 AM

Anyone else remember what it was like 10-30 years ago in Coeur d’Alene? If you slid off an icy road, before you could get out of the car, the guy behind you stopped and pushed you back on (true story)! When you got on a freeway ramp, people moved over to let you on. If you didn’t charge when the light turned green, no one honked.

We stopped to smell the roses and check out the wildlife. Now we have speeders, drivers who cut you off, run red lights and give you the finger.

I can’t tell you voting local will bring that back, but the November election is for the people who effect changes in our day-to-day life. It’s for the mayor, council people and school board members.

These are nonpartisan positions. Please don’t vote a straight R or D ticket anymore.

Please look at these candidates. Evaluate what they stand for, what changes they want to make, how long they’ve lived here and if they’re invested in our town.
