DRIVING: Put courtesy at the wheel

| October 22, 2021 1:00 AM

Move over. I understand that we’ve had a major influx of “newcomers” here in North Idaho. With that said, I remember the days when the left lane of the freeway stayed fairly vacant because we all understood that the left lane is for passing only.

Unfortunately, those who have recently moved here from states where laws are not adhered to are bringing their bad habits here. Idaho law requires you to only use the left lane for passing or to create room for emergency vehicles stopped on the shoulder. Winter hasn’t even arrived and the lack of common sense among drivers is very eye opening.

Please practice common courtesy and follow the law: If you are not actively passing someone, get in the right lane.
