Submissions for art show close Monday

Submissions close Monday for “Art Overcomes,” a new art exhibit that celebrates the healing power of art and strength of the people in the community.

"I can not speak highly enough about the power of art, all the arts really," said Darla Dreyer, director of the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center. "I have been a dance and theater instructor for over 30 years and have seen children and adults transformed with confidence and the spirit of collaboration."

Dreyer said she looks forward to the show and hearing and sharing the stories of others who have benefited and been lifted up by the arts.

The show will run from Nov. 12 through the end of December in the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls.

Submissions are open to anyone and there are no submission fees for this show. Submissions are limited to two pieces per entrant.
