June Siemens, 88

June LaVonne Siemens, a resident of Coeur d’Alene, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at the age of 88. She passed away on what would have been her 70th wedding anniversary to her beloved late husband, Edward Robert Siemens Jr.

June was born on Nov. 27, 1932, in Kokomo, Ind. She met Ed while attending Biola School of the Bible for a degree in Biblical Studies. At Biola, the laundry room was divided down the middle-men on one side, women on the other. One day Ed went to do his laundry and heard a beautiful voice coming over from the girl’s side. Ed, being the prankster, threw a box of laundry soap over the top of the dividing wall, which kicked off the courtship of Ed and June. They met in the autumn of 1951 and went on to raise four children — Edward, Phillip, Lavonne, and Stephanie.

June was a woman who experienced God’s forgiveness and grace in her own life and was bent on sharing that same message of salvation with those around her. Whether it was through teaching Sunday school and serving at her church or over a hot cup of coffee in her living room, June worked hard to point people toward Christ.

One of her favorite Bible verses comes from Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

June is survived by four children, 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

A simple celebration of life will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2021, at Mill River Senior Apartments in the Community Meeting room behind the office, 3648 North Sunapee Loop, Coeur d’Alene.

Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements. Please visit June’s online memorial and sign her guestbook at yatesfuneralhomes.com.
