St. Maries schools to reopen

| October 9, 2021 1:00 AM

ST. MARIES — The St. Maries School District is scheduled to reopen Monday after being closed last month due to a high absence rate.

The district closed schools on Sept. 21, canceled sporting events, switched to online learning and provided lunches. About 30% of students were out due to the coronavirus or other illnesses. The district has about 1,000 students.

The district’s reopening plan says masks or face shields are required for staff and students. It also calls for daily health checks at home, increased sanitation and maintaining social distance.
