COVID: Distinguish the deaths

| October 8, 2021 1:00 AM

Regarding the article in Thursday’s front-page story on COVID, there are two specific issues which I rarely hear or read about regarding COVID deaths: first and foremost is did those who died have underlying condition (obese, heart/lung issues, for instance, which affect COVID survival)?

Second is did those who died actually die OF COVID or FROM COVID? There is a big difference, which I very rarely hear or read: someone in a fatal car accident who happens to have COVID, did not die from COVID.
