PREP ROUNDUP: Charter boys edge Priest River

POST FALLS — Treffen McCord and Brandon Chavez broke open a scoreless halftime score to push Coeur d’Alene Charter past the Priest River Spartans 2-1 in an Intermountain League match at The Fields on Wednesday.

Due to a COVID-19 shutdown, St. Maries had to forfeit today’s scheduled match against the Panthers, who will improve to 11-2-2, 10-1-1 with the win.

The 3A District 1-2 tournament is next week at The Fields.

COEUR d’ALENE — Taylor Peterson had 15 digs and one block, Raeana Kendra four digs for the Panthers in a 25-18, 25-20, 25-16 loss to the Spartans in an Intermountain League match at Holy Family Catholic School late Tuesday.

Alysse Woodworth had two assists, Leandra Norcini eight digs and Kalei Merrifield three digs and eight assists and Gabriella Kenner four aces for Coeur d’Alene Charter (2-8, 1-4 IML), which faces Timberlake tonight at Holy Family Catholic School.

PRIEST RIVER — Jacob Simpson and Eric Gray scored goals for the Tigers in an Intermountain League win over the Spartans late Tuesday.

Tyler Engleson scored in the 72nd minute for Priest River.

Nate Anderson had nine saves for Timberlake (10-2-2, 9-1-1 IML), which hosts Bonners Ferry tonight.
