POST FALLS — Senior Brandon Chavez scored a hat trick as the Panthers beat the Maniacs in Intermountain League play at The Fields at Real Life Ministries.

Owen Hughes added a goal and an assist for Coeur d’Alene Charter (9-2-2, 8-1-1 IML).

“We came out flat today,” Charter coach Craig Daigle said. “It took a while to find space in Orofino’s back lines. We had a lot of players out today and had to play some unusual lineups. Freshman Owen Sharp was very strong in our back line.”

Coeur d’Alene Charter returns to action next Monday at the 3A District 1-2 tournament at The Fields.

COEUR d'ALENE — Elliotte Kortus scored a pair of goals as the Lake City girls soccer team defeated Lewiston 3-0.

On night in which Lake City honored its senior players, coach Matt Ruchti said most members of the squad got the chance to play — and many got valuable rest, with several big games coming up.

“I couldn’t be more proud of them,” Ruchti said.

Lake City’s next game is at home Saturday against Post Falls.
