Manuel Cortez, Jr. “JR”, 64, of Dalton Gardens, Idaho passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. He is survived by his mother, Henrietta Cortez, and his two brothers, Larry and Michael.

JR was born in North Hollywood, Calif., but was a Coeur d’ Alene resident for the majority of his life. He was a graduate of Coeur d’Alene High School and North Idaho College. JR enjoyed spending time outdoors and was passionate about fishing our local lakes. He loved watching his favorite NFL team, the Miami Dolphins.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Yates Funeral Home — Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. 4th St., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814. He will be laid to rest at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. The family would like to thank the Life Care Center in Post Falls for making his last days comfortable.
