| November 24, 2021 1:12 AM

LEWISTON — Lake City coach James Anderson said that sophomore Sophia Zufelt hadn’t quite been herself since the first day of practice.

On Tuesday, the sophomore guard picked a good time to get healthy.

Zufelt had 21 points and five steals for the Timberwolves in a 65-50 win over the Lewiston Bengals in an Inland Empire League game on Tuesday at Lewiston High.

“Soph’s been sick since the first day of practice,” Anderson said. “She really got after it tonight and set the tone for us tonight.”

Sophomore forward Avery Waddington had 20 points, sophomore guard Kamryn Pickford 12 points and eight rebounds and senior guard Kendall Pickford eight assists for Lake City (4-0, 2-0 IEL), which hosts Eagle on Dec. 2.

Forward Katy Wessels scored 23 points for Lewiston (2-3, 1-1).

“Our girls did a good job of getting out in transition,” Anderson said. “We mixed it up a little on defense and got out to a fast start in the second half.”
