Courtesy photo The Viking team from Coeur d’Alene High placed 2nd overall in the Open Invitational Boys 5k out of 76 teams and over 700 racers at the Nike Cross Northwest Regional race last weekend at Eagle Island State Park. Over 1,600 middle school and high school racers from Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming competed. In the front, from left, from the Viking team was Zack Cervi-Skinner (33rd place, 17:13.1), Kyle Rohlinger (167th place, 18:07.7), Max Cervi-Skinner (6th place, 16:27.0) and Will Callahan (110th place, 17:50.3); and rear, Jacob King (20th place, 16:56.6). The top 21 individuals for each boys and girls open invitational race were given special recognition.
