John “Jack” Joseph Baldwin, 75

John “Jack” Joseph Baldwin, 75, of Priest River, Idaho, passed away on Nov. 7, 2021, at the Schneidmiller House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, while battling Esophageal Cancer. John was born June 3, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Robert Baldwin of Utah and Elizabeth Price of Montana.

John grew up in Los Angeles, Calif., area and met his wife Dixie Lee through a friend and were married on the April 27, 1963, at the age of 16. John and Dixie were happily married for 41 years, up to the time of her passing.

John enlisted into the Military and served in the Army from the March 16, 1966, and was then released in 1972. While enlisted in the Army, John served in the Vietnam War and was a triple Purple Heart Recipient. John then worked and retired as a Captain with the Kootenai Fire Station #4.

John was a legend in disc golf and was known as “Old Man Jack." He also enjoyed playing billiards, riding his side by side and camping on the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River but mostly loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember John as “Papa”.

John his survived by his children: James “Jim” Randolph Baldwin of Greyland, Wash.; Candie Ann (Sandon) McFarland of Post Falls, Idaho, and her children Bryanna, Shawn, Kayla, Courtney and children; Michelle Marie (Brandon) Studebaker of Rathdrum, Idaho, with her children Adam Dawson and children, Kaitlyn and children Mckenna Francis (Brian) Everett of Rathdrum, Idaho, and John Robert Baldwin (Brandy) and their children of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. John is also survived by his siblings: sister Susan Pedder from Menifee, Calif., sister Donna Loveridge of North Hollywood, Calif., sister Christina Monroe of Rathdrum, Idaho, stepsister Faye Jett of Boise, Idaho, brother Michael Baldwin of Tehachapi, Calif., and stepbrother Bill Baldwin of Lake Forest, Calif., as well as his nine grandchildren: Bryanna, Shawn, Kayla, Courtney, Adam, Kaytlin, Kayl, Jordan and Ciarra, as well as 12 great-grandchildren: Varonica, Kadance, Corbin, Aubrie, Grayson, Asher, Kam, Raelyn, Oliver, Natalie, Walker and Reilly.

John is preceded in death by his wife Dixie Lee Baldwin, father Robert P. Baldwin, mother Elizabeth J. Ellis and Brother Robert “Butch” Baldwin.

A celebration of John’s “Jack” life will be held on 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Anthem Church located at 251 Miles Ave., Hayden Lake, Idaho.
