Thomas Dean Engle, 68, passed peacefully at his Post Falls home on Nov. 7, 2021. He was surrounded by family and his faithful dog Lilly.

Tom was born Nov. 5, 1953, in Leoti, Kan., to Jack and Patricia Engle. Tom spent his childhood in Texas along with his three brothers and three sisters.

He attended Ambassador College where he was number one on the tennis team. He married April Johnston in 1976 and was blessed with two beautiful daughters Kristine and Jaclyn.

Later he settled in Florida and worked as a medical malpractice insurance adjuster where he met his lifelong friend Jeff.

ln 1989 Tom moved to North Idaho. It was here that he met his wife, Lisa Rearden. They married and welcomed a third daughter Brittany. Together they have owned and operated Wolf Lodge Steakhouse for 28 years.

He was a man of many interests. His passions included tennis, skiing flying scuba diving, golf and cherry pie. He loved the ocean, beautiful music and sunsets on the deck, good wine and an occasional scotch and cigar.

A true gentleman, Tom will always be remembered for his kind and gentle heart. His battle with cancer showed us all how strong and courageous of a man he was.

Tom is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Kristine Engle of Florida, Jaclyn (David) Eglit of Connecticut, Brittany Engle of Post Falls; grandchildren, Cameryn and Caleb; and many extended family and treasured friends.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 21, at Wolf Lodge Steakhouse in Coeur d'Alene for all who knew and loved him.

ln lieu of flowers the family requests you remember Hospice of North Idaho, Kootenai Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
