NIC's Heringer signs to play soccer at Gonzaga

North Idaho College freshman Stuart Heringer, a goalkeeper from Salem, Ore., was one of four players to sign letters of intent earlier this week to play soccer at Gonzaga.

"Gonzaga was the first school I looked at," Heringer said in a GU news release. "I really enjoyed the location, size of the school, and its strong soccer program and academics."

Heringer also has club experience at Shattuck St. Mary's, the Portland Timbers Academy and Portland Timbers U23s (USL 2).

He also has been an Oregon State club champion, selected to the Oregon ODP Team in 2014-2017 and in 2019-2020. Heringer is a member of the Region IV Regional Team in 2017 and named to the 1st Team All-Central Valley League.

At GU, Heringer plans to pursue a finance degree and hopes to be a general manager of a professional sports team one day.
