Frances Hauser, 92

Frances Hauser, age 92, passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Oct. 29, 2021, of natural causes.

Frances was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, on Aug. 16, 1929, to Amil and Zelma Martin. She was the youngest of four daughters. At age 8, the family moved to Nampa, Idaho, where she grew up. Frances graduated from Nampa High School in 1946. On June 1, 1946, she married the love of her life, Harold L. Hauser; they were married for 46 years until Harold passed away in 1992.

Frances and Harold had two daughters: Sue (Hauser) Vance of Bozeman, Mont., and Lori (Hauser) Shaw of Post Falls, Idaho.

Frances went back to college at age 38 to became a Medical Technologist. She worked for St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho, for many years.

Frances moved to Post Falls, Idaho, in 1994 to be closer to her children. She was involved in many church groups, including “Women Alone,” a group which she created for widows to help them continue a strong, faithful and supportive life. Another love of hers was cooking. She was the youngest test cook hired at Betty Crocker test kitchens at the age of 18. She loved being with family and sharing in holiday gatherings.

Frances is survived by her daughters: Sue Vance, and Lori Shaw — husband Jerry. Grandsons: Justin and Josh Miller, step-grandchildren: Jeannie (Mark) Lengyel, Tammy (John) Blair, Wendy Shaw, Jared (Mique) Shaw, and Heidi (Josh) Ward. Also leaving behind are many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Frances is proceeded in death by her husband, Harold Hauser, parents Amil and Zelma Martin, sisters: Alice Foster, Mariam Brown and Jane Ireland.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Nov. 15, 2021, at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St, Post Falls, Idaho. A burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls, Idaho.

The family wishes to thank Orchard Ridge Senior Facility and Schneidmiller Hospice House for their wonderful care of our mother (grandmother).
