ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Gabby Garasky, Lake City High

Gabby Garasky

Lake City High

Garasky, a sophomore, won the state 5A title in the 100-yard freestyle, then swam the anchor leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay as Lake City edged Boise 230.5 points to 221.5 on Saturday at the West Valley YMCA and Boise Aquatic Center for the program’s first state swimming title. “She just drives more on that high-level competition,” Lake City coach Shelly Sobek said. “Her experience at the club level puts her in a good situation to excel where she’s at.”
