Sam passed onto heaven from his Coeur d’Alene home Nov. 1. Born June 14, 1948, to Monnie and Donald Mann in Merced, Calif., Sam was raised, educated and lived in California until moving in the late 1970s to Sandpoint and later Coeur d’Alene. He worked as a top mechanic in the Coeur d’Alene area until retiring from Jordan Sales and Service.

In 1983, while living in Coeur d’Alene, Sam met and married Chris Taylor. Sam’s passions were his pet dogs, NASCAR, Stateline Speedway and the North Idaho outdoors. He was “Grandpa” Sam to the neighborhood kids and a great neighbor to the adults. Sam was a regular worshiper and volunteer at Real Life Church in Post Falls.

He is survived by wife Chris, mother Monnie Mann, brother Loren Mann, from a previous marriage sons Samuel Mann Jr., Phillip Mann, daughter Sheri Roberts and five grandchildren.

No immediate services are planned. A celebration of life will occur in the future. Donations in memory of Sam can be given to the Salvation Army. Bell Tower Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
