MADNESS: Five clear examples
• Our school board is attacked by an aggressive, loud group of concerned citizens resulting in the resignation of two dedicated board members who felt it was unsafe to continue to serve on the board. No matter the complaint, it was an ugly way to handle the situation.
• Todd Banducci and his two buddies fire the extremely successful president of NIC. For what reason? No cause could be named, yet we taxpayers are still obligated to pay $270,000 to fulfill the president’s contract.
• Now Banducci wants us to pay for an attorney to protect him from the consequences of his actions and the lawsuit he will surely be served, despite the fact that the board already has a competent and excellent attorney.
• “The People’s Pen” arrived in the mail. On the cover were two men heavily armed with AK-47s, etc., and plenty of ammo, a menacing-looking dog and a dangerous-looking woman. This alarming picture was captioned “The Battle for CDA 2030 AD.”
After reading the unbelievable misrepresentation and lies about our schools and community, I felt sick and could not sleep all night.
• A publication was sent to me from Hillsdale College (where is that?) named “IMPRINTS,” which claimed the Jan. 6 insurrection was a hoax. REALLY?
• The KCRCC demanding that we all think the same.
I know this: Fanaticism in either direction is not the answer to our problems. We must work together, with civility and mutual respect to keep this beautiful city on the right path. This madness needs to end.
