| November 3, 2021 1:00 AM

Beverly L. Sedy, 87, passed away on Oct. 23, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

She was born on April 9, 1934, in Twisp, Wash., to parents Zalmer and Wilda Grier. In 1953, she graduated from Harrison High School. During her time in Harrison, Idaho, she worked at the Rose Cafe, where she met her future husband, Wesley Sedy. The two married on Sept. 6, 1954. After short stints in Oregon and Spokane, Wash., Wesley and Beverly settled into a new home in Coeur d'Alene, where they would raise their three children.

Beverly had several interests and was an attendant of Hayden Lake Friends Church. She enjoyed going to her children’s and grandchildren’s numerous school programs and celebrations. She also enjoyed tending to her flower garden, doting on the birds that visited year-round, and caring for the countless neighborhood cats.

A devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Beverly’s happiest moments were the ones where she was surrounded by family. Over the years, she hosted many memorable get-togethers: birthdays, holidays and potlucks where she would brighten the room with her contagious laughter and loving smile.

Beverly was often the first to offer a helping hand or a listening ear not out of obligation, but because that is who she was. Above all else, she believed in putting others first and making sure that they knew they were unconditionally loved. She will be dearly missed by all the lives she touched.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Sedy; sister, Shirley Fredericks and brother, Bob Grier. She is survived by her three children, Steven, Debbi and Danny Sedy; her sister, Lorietta White; three grandchildren, Sarah, Ermina and Wesley Sedy; and her many nieces and nephews.

Beverly will be laid to rest at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens. Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with final arrangements.
