Return of 'Ride the Wall'

| May 27, 2021 1:00 AM

Ride the Wall is back.

The 13-mile bicycle ride, held nearly 25 years, is making a returning after an absence. It is set for June 21 on the Trail of The Coeur d'Alenes, and then on to the CCC Road, Wall Ridge route, described as a picturesque road that winds along and above the Coeur d'Alene River.

The ride is a fundraiser for the Silver Valley Fuller Center for Housing.

The riverside ride starts at 6 p.m. at the Enaville trailhead of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and is followed by the barbecue.

One can opt to mountain bike the "Wall" or road bike along the trail of the Coeur d'Alenes from Enaville to Cataldo and back.

For 24 years, the Enaville Resort, otherwise known as the Snake Pit, hosted a Summer Solstice bike ride up a logging road along the river followed by an outdoor barbecue. It wasn't held for a few years due to the 2012 death of owner Joe Peak, and then the coronavirus came along last year.

The event begins and ends at the Snake Pit, 1480 Coeur d'Alene River Road, Kingston, ID. Registration includes a shirt and the barbecue.

Registration is from 4-6 p.m., or register early at www.svfch.org.
