Charles (Chuck) Jackson, 82

Charles R. Jackson (Chuck), 82, passed away May 20, 2021 at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born March 20, 1939 in Havre, Mont., to Charles H. and Elisabeth Jackson.

He grew up in various towns in Montana and North Dakota where his father was a pastor of the Assembly of God Church, and he graduated from Williston High School in Williston, N.D. After attending Evangel College in Springfield, Miss., he moved to Dallas, Texas in 1966 and designed and sold homes for Peak Homes. It was at a Peak Homes open house where he met his wife, Peggy; they were married on Sept. 4, 1968 – 52 years.

Chuck and family moved to Idaho in 1972 where he resumed his real estate career. In 1979, he and Peggy started Soups Etc. in Coeur d’Alene. He became a Farmers Insurance agent in 1991 and served his clients there until retirement.

Chuck’s favorite hobby was model railroading; he had a large and elaborate N-scale layout in his home. He loved golfing at Avondale and the area golf courses as often as weather permitted, and he enjoyed gardening in the summer.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan. He is survived by his wife; Peggy (Hayden) sons, Scott White (Karen) in Tennessee, Rick Jackson (Holley) in Hayden, Channing Jackson (Katie) in Denver; daughter, Lisa Hagen in Missouri; his brothers, Joe Jackson (Katie) in Virginia, and Phil Jackson in Montana; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; former sister-in-law June, and nine nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held later in July.
