Race the Joe this weekend

Race the Joe on the St. Joe River is this weekend in St. Maries. It was canceled last year due to the coronavirus.

Several new boat-racing teams are among the registered 12 competing for trophies.

The annual show and shine is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday on Main Street. It will feature local vendors, the boats and the teams competing in Race the Joe. Come get autographs and peruse apparel.

Boat races start 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Idaho Forest Landing and are expected to wrap up about 3:30 p.m. Teams will race to Calder and back.

It is free and there will be free race programs. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
