Richard George Hawley, 89

Richard “Dick” George Hawley, 89, passed away peacefully in his Wenatchee, Wash., home and went to be with his Lord on Feb. 25, 2021. He was born in Spokane, Wash., on May 21, 1931, to Madalyon and Harold Hawley.

After graduating from Central High School in 1949, Dick went into the U.S. Air Force, serving in England during the Korean War, and returning to continue service with the Air National Guard until 1986.

Dick and his wife lived in the North Idaho area for many years and together they served the community with many hours of volunteerism at the Post Falls Food Bank and The Post Falls Senior Center.

Dick was a faithful Christian man, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Kenneth and David; and daughter, Linda. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Renabel, and daughters, Deana (Steve) Fauth, Shela Hemstrom and Jennifer Morton. He was blessed to have 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral is being held at 10:30 a.m. on his 90th birthday, Friday, May 21, 2021, at His Place Church on 16th Street in Post Falls, Idaho, followed by refreshments and a burial at Post Falls Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Arrangement assistance by Chapel of The Valley, East Wenatchee, Wash.
